One third of Facebook employees will become millionaires after IPO

In 2012, Facebook will go public with a valuation of at least $100 billion. Most of Facebook

employees are incentivised with Facebook stocks. They will be able to sell them freely on the market after Facebook IPO. Today Facebook has 3,000 employees and 1,000 of them have enough Facebook shares to become millionaires. Executives will get $4 million and engineers will get $13 million.

It sounds crazy to think that after the IPO Facebook will host 1,000 millionaires between its walls. And the smallest millionaires will have $4 million! No doubt most of them will leave Facebook after they cash out and start a new life… Then Facebook might need to recruit hundreds of employees after the IPO to fill the gap. Would you stay in a company that has offer you the opportunity to become a millionaire or would leave and use the money to fund your own startup?
