Google adsense ad banner for Facebook IPO

Posted on 27 Apr 2012 in Facebook, Social Media | Comments Off

I have jsut seen this Google adsense ad banner on a website:

“Invest in Facebook Now”

This seems very weird as facebook is not supposed to advertise to encourage people to buy their stocks…

When I clicked on the banner I’ve been redirected to the landing page below telling a “Secret Way to Invest in Facebook Before it Goes Public”…

It’s very surprising this kind of dodgy ads are allowed on Google…

First 9000 Facebook users ID are from Harvard

Posted on 20 Apr 2012 in Facebook, Social Media | Comments Off

This discovery is purely logical and totally useless I know but I have found out that Facebook users with ID from 1 to 9000

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=XXXX have all studied in Harvard. Just replace the XXXX with numbers between 1 to 9000. Some might not work for some reasons, but you’ll see they’re all from Harvard!

Obviously as Facebook at the beginning named thefacebook.com was opened only to Harvard students, they have all benefited from the first Facebook IDs.

You can give a try and check the timeline to see that the guy with the Facebook ID 100 has signed up on Facebook only 1 day after the creation of Facebook (4th february 2004). It means on day 2 of Facebook it has already 100 users at least.

Thanks to the profile with timeline you can see the growth of Facebook amongst Harvard students.

Useless but fun!
